Shramabhimani Kendraya was started in 1994 by Sr. Noel Christine with a group of volunteers with a little assistant from the sisters of charity. It was basically worked with the poor people of Negombo area. Gradually it expanded to Gampaha district. Due to lack of funding resource it was not functioned in 2010-2014. Again on 2014 youth group wanted to revive the work. So again Shramabhimani Kendraya registered as a Non government organization in 2016. Team of youth volunteering in the free trade zone to help for the labors.
Shramabhimani Kendraya now working on health ,environment and human right sectors of Gampaha district. Under Fr Sarath Iddamalgoda and Sr Noel Christien’s guidance ,Shramabhmani Kendraya volunteering to uphold the life style of the labors. It has admin team and shramabhimani has created communities from labors farmers etc. It is helping to the community by dealing with small societies.

To secure basic human rights, fulfill responsibilities, rise up with more self-reliance, protect the environment and national heritage. To be concertized together with the poor, to be organized in solidarity with them to change the unjust structures and to be committed to build a just and humane society in view of greater fulfillment of social aspirations.

Using the methodology of action and reflection and action to educate the poor on their burning needs.
