Championing Dignity, Safety, and Fairness in the Workplace

Introduction:
We believe that all work deserves dignity. In the heart of Sri Lanka’s industrial zones, we stand with the workers who are the backbone of the economy yet often face exploitation, unsafe conditions, and silenced voices. Our Labour Rights program is dedicated to empowering these individuals to claim their rights and transform their workplaces.

Our Key Initiatives:

• Legal Aid & Representation: Providing free legal support to workers facing unfair dismissal, wage theft, and other violations.

• Trade Union Formation: Empowering workers to form and join unions, giving them a collective voice for collective bargaining.

• Worker Forums: Establishing and supporting forums in Katunayake, Biyagama, and other zones to foster solidarity and shared leadership.

• Rights Education: Conducting workshops on labour laws, contract negotiation, and health & safety standards.

Our Impact:

• Provided legal representation to over 3,000 workers.

• Successfully facilitated the formation of unions in previously unorganized factories.

• Trained over 130 core leaders to sustain advocacy efforts.
